October 4th forum announcement

Dear Poetry Aficionados,

Poetry & Poets in Rags blog

A reflection of the world comes through our News at Eleven section, one of prejudice and intolerance by both governments and citizens. In some cases, the poets involved are victims, in some witnesses, and in some the healers. We begin with Javier Sicilia in Mexico, and an article with the headline, Can This Poet Save Mexico. Our Back Page contains a link to an article called Sharia Vigilante Street Justice in America, about the poet Alaa Alsaegh who was held down while someone carved a large Star of David on his back.

You'll find lot's of good articles and poems in our Great Regulars section, where multiple items have been brought to us by Judith Fitzgerald, Alison Flood, Garrison Keillor, E. Ethelbert Miller, The Brooklyn Rail, and Guernica. And be sure to take a scroll through the Poetic Obituary section.

Thanks for clicking in.

Yours,
Rus
