Dear Poetry Aficionados,
Poetry & Poets in Rags blog
Once again, a literary death has drawn the attention of our Great Regulars. Children's writer, poet, and illustrator, Maurice Sendak passed away. His links are alphabetically the last in our last section, the Poetic Obituaries. On your way there, Sarah Crown, Alison Flood, Hillel Italie, John Timpane, and David Ulin each have something to say in tribute.
We begin with poetic reactions to the bullying tactics of Vladimir Putin. In one article, poets and writers lead the way in a march. In the second, a poet becomes a figurehead for the protesters.
In between our aforementioned first story in News at Eleven and our last in Poetic Obituaries, are dozens of interesting and important stories on poets and poetry, and some terrific poems. For instance, look for Elana Bell's link out of Great Regulars. And if you do not read it, because it is not your poem, it is still your poem. You'll see what I mean.
Thanks for clicking in.
Yours,
Rus
