Great Regulars: The tragic Ophelia, of Shakespeare's Hamlet,

and the come-hither centerfolds of 1960s and '70s Playboy magazine: these are the images of femininity explored in two poetry collections: Archive of the Undressed by Jeanette Lynes and Church of the Exquisite Panic: The Ophelia Poems by Carol Glasser.

At first glance, they might seem totally different. But they do have something in common, for all of these women are passive and defined by men.
