Great Regulars: Moonlight, plantlife, water: Alice Oswald

has made these subjects her own, and she turns to them again in two superb new collections, both published this month. The first, A Sleepwalk on the Severn, is a meditation on the five stages of moonrise: "new moon, half moon, full moon, no moon, moon reborn". In the second, Weeds and Wild Flowers, Oswald has collaborated with the artist Jessica Greenman to produce an outlandish field guide, in which bright-coloured plates are replaced by queerly beautiful etchings and scrupulous descriptions exchanged for visionary poems
