Great Regulars: Is this a poem of despair?

I don't think so. The tone is so rhyming and chiming and energetic, engaged with all of life, whether it's doomed or not. We feel such energy in the way [Dean] Young dumps everything into the poem in a great, grand rainstorm of life, including its brokenness and its grinding to a stop.
