Great Regulars: But this is still a love-poem,

and nowhere more obviously than in that final, para-rhymed couplet, where, having quoted the injunction, Noli me tangere, the hind describes herself as "wild for to hold". This instantly transports us to a hinterland of erotic excitement, and registers the extent of the poet's loss and hurt, now that the King has claimed [Thomas] Wyatt's dear as his own.
