His favorite spot on the tour is near the Bowery, at the building where Hettie Jones, the author and ex-wife of LeRoi Jones, later known as Amiri Baraka, still lives. At 27 Cooper Square, it's an old tenement that's now wedged against a trendy high-rise hotel.
