are ensconced in the literary canon: at least eight poet laureates, as many Pulitzer Prize winners, and major award winners too numerous to calculate. Among them are Galway Kinnell, Stanley Kunitz, Billy Collins, Philip Levine, Maxine Kumin, Robert Pinsky, Robert Haas, Richard Wilbur and Donald Hall. Mr. Hall and Mr. Wilbur are returning this year.

"I had such good memories of the Sunken Garden Festival and the kind of people who come out and the flavor of it all," said Mr. Wilbur, now 91. "So I decided to come."
