and, because of blindness, has dictated only the occasional poem. The Canberra poet Geoff Page visits and says Dobson has always been modest about her talent: "I think she has not been as recognised as some of her contemporaries such as Judith Wright or David Campbell. Perhaps it's because she did not write as much about Australia. She wrote more about interior states."
