Twelve Burnt Saucepans, her first published collection, appeared in 1970 and showcased her observational style of writing, in this instance about family life. Other collections followed and she read her poems on BBC Radio 4, in Looking Round Dangerously (1987), I Want to Go Home (1990) and Just in Case (1991).
