California Academy of Sciences and volunteered in the classroom at Martin Luther King Middle School. A poet's poet, Sam had a life-long love affair with words, devoting many a morning to his daily journal, musing on the mysteries of life. Sam's backpacking miles measure in the thousands and he was never happier than in the high mountains with family and friends.
