November 6th forum announcement
Dear Poetry Aficionados,
Poetry & Poets in Rags blog
I'm not always hopeful clicking into an interview, that it will be a good one. It takes excellent work and preparation on both parties, which must then come together in synergy. If one or the other only is exceptional, then the best that can result is a mediocre article, wherein something important gets expressed amid too much chatter. This week, we lead off with a very good one from The Spectator, J.P. O'Malley interviewing Ciaran Carson on translating Rimbaud. This is the first of eleven articles in our News at Eleven section.
Our next section is Great Regulars. It is in this section that we find Carol Ann Duffy, the Poet Laureate of England, has written an article not to be missed, called Choosing Sylvia Plath's poems. The event is the new book Sylvia Plath Poems Chosen by Carol Ann Duffy. It is timely, as we have just entered the few months between Plath's 80th birthday last week, and the 50th anniversary of her death come February.
I'll leave everything else, the dozens of other links, to your discovery. Thanks for clicking in.
Yours,
Rus
