whom he had known for more than 20 years, as a quiet man, deeply involved in the cultural life of Houston's Japanese-American community. He proposed creation of a Japanese drum corps, which Mochizuki later led, and helped start a Japanese poetry society.
"He was just a funny guy," Norma Inafuku said. "He was quite an unassuming person. Very humble. . . . He was interested in keeping in touch with his roots."
