from Vanderbilt University in 1951 and went on to a long career as professor of English at Peabody College. In 1981, she became a founder and long-time editor of the Cumberland Poetry Review. Touster's poems were published in poetry magazines in England, Canada and the United States and in Homewords, an anthology of Tennessee writers. A collection of her poems, The Wind, the Rose, and the Stone, was published in 2005.
A group of poets met at Touster's home every other week for 40 years, sharing and critiquing one another's poems.
