Great Regulars: Conversely, if we sympathize with some of his

or her personal suffering we would most likely be drawn more deeply into his world. So which is better: to reveal or not to reveal? It remains an open question.

I believe a poet's personal life is irrelevant and direct references to it do not belong in the work itself, that the work and the life should always be kept strictly separate.
