scientific knowledge is rational only because it is obtainable through reason. The others obtainable through means other than reason are not irrational; they are extra-rational or suprarational. Logicians may deprecate the woolly fuzziness of intuition; the intuitionists can easily decry the strictures of logic. Actually, there is no exclusiveness of one over the other. Discursive reasoning is not possible without poetic intuition.
