Poetic Obituaries: [George Andrew Powell Sr.] sang professionally

with a male quartet. He sang on the high holidays at Temples in Los Angeles and sang the U.S. and Canadian anthems for professional games at the L.A. Forum.

George was past president of the Wyoming Valley Poetry Society and judged the children's activities for the Hanover Area Education Association. He contributed his poems to the "Welsh Mosaics," published by the Welsh Church in Los Angeles.
