Dear Poetry Aficionados,
Poetry & Poets in Rags blog
We travel the world through poetry this week. Our first link in News at Eleven takes us to Haiti, the second to Azerbaijan, the third to Palestine. Then we're back in time to the Holocaust, back to the present in the US, then over to England, and up to Maine before hitting Canada. We'll then go to the west coast of the US, then back in time again to the creation of the Mona Lisa. Our Back Page item, the last in News at Eleven, takes us to Tennyson's old study.
Of the dozens of articles in our Great Regulars section, with poetry galore as usual, we begin with David Biespiel's look at a Zbigniew Herbert poem. The second link, though, takes us back to Haiti and poet Kwame Dawes where we started. Jeffrey Brown looks at Dawes' poetry, and how he happened to go to Haiti, and when, and why.
Thanks for clicking in.
Yours,
Rus
