education specialist and an adjunct professor for UMKC and LD specialist. She began her career as a teacher at the age of 40 and had taught 8th grade English for 18 years at Palmer Middle School, and later taught English and English Literature and Composition over 4 years at Truman High School, before she retired in 1991. She was a published author and had works published in the KC Star, Readers Digest and had two of her poems published in separate books of poetry.
