News at Eleven: "If the veterans can get past not having sheep baa-ing

in the background, it's going to be fabulous," says poet Renee Ashley of Ringwood, one of the facilitators of this year's festival, to be staged in seven Newark venues: NJPAC, the Newark Museum, Aljira--A Center for Contemporary Art, New Jersey Historical Society, Peddie Baptist Church, Trinity-St. Phillips Church and the Robert Treat Hotel.

Some 20,000 people are expected to converge on Newark over four days to hear poets like Amiri Baraka, Rita Dove, Billy Collins, Mark Strand, Galway Kinnell, Kwame Dawes, Matthew Dickman, Nancy Morejon, Sharon Olds, Bob Hicok and the most recent poet laureate, Kay Ryan.
