Great Regulars: And Ursula Fanthorpe has been that essential figure,

a literary foremother, for several generations of women poets. Perhaps this was an irony for a writer who escaped the life of a teacher--she was head of English at Cheltenham Ladies' College--because she wanted growth and change of her own. Yet she brought me, for one, back to poetry after bad experiences at school, when I heard her read at the last Albert Hall Poetry Live in the late 1980s.
