Great Regulars: Now my days were ruled by George's deafening

demands to be fed. Six-inch worms disappeared into his extended neck as if he were a sewage pipe; sometimes they would curl around his beak in a desperate attempt to save themselves, and I would have to shovel them down his throat.

My dogs were riveted; they spent happy hours Georgewatching. I feared that they might kill him if he escaped his cage.
