After the creation of Pakistan he settled in Karachi and then Lahore. His real name was Syed Ali Mehdi Naqvi.

Dr. Khiyal Amrohi finally settled in Layyah City district Layyah , not in lahore . and more off the record info is , " dr. khiyal was teacher of Aziz mian Qawal in poetry "
