Great Regulars: Portsmouth poet Deb Dennis set to work

to write a poem that captured the personality of the Beaver Moon, which is November. The name apparently implies that it was the moon when traps needed to be set before the swamps froze in order to get furs for warmth during the winter moons to come. We can only imagine how deeply back in time the reference stretches.

Deb says she is always taken by surprise by the sudden darkening of the cold time, its often unexpected arrival well-expected by the birds and trees around us.
