writing professor, won the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for poetry Monday.The San Diego resident won the prize for "Versed," a book inspired by her personal experiences fighting cancer. The Pulitzer committee described her book as "striking for its wit and linguistic inventiveness, offering poems that are often little thought-bombs detonating in the mind long after the first reading."
