an invitation to look past their own "scenic boundaries" into the distances--human as well as geographical--we find so difficult to cross. Also I'm hoping that readers will welcome me as a poet as well as an essayist, but if I keep referring to poems as dehydrated beef stew, this may not happen. [--Bette Lynch Husted]
