and literary critic Jarosław Rymkiewicz drew over 200 free speech supporters in a Warsaw courtroom yesterday, during his first appearance in a libel case launched by Agora, publisher of the Gazeta Wyborcza newspaper.
"This is a process that will show what freedom of speech looks like in our country, which is supposed to be a free country," Mr Rymkiewicz said earlier.
Agora is demanding an apology and zł.10,000 in compensation for something the poet wrote in conservative paper Gazeta Polska last September.
