Poetic Obituaries: Hannah [Hasbrouck Petersen]'s greatest passion

was her music. She was an accomplished violist and singer. But she also played cello, violin, viola da gamba, guitar and lute. And she played a mean old-time fiddle, performing with her mother as "Viol Habits" from childhood until the present.

Hannah played with the Erie Chamber Orchestra and as a substitute with the Western New York Chamber Orchestra. Since September 2009, she was the choir director at the Fredonia First Methodist Church.

She also was a member of the Scandinavian tradition-al band Svenska Spelman. She was very proud of her Danish and Scottish heritage and took great joy in keeping traditional music alive.

Hannah also loved drawing, writing poetry, being out in the woods and her cats and dogs.
