"It is a lovely poem but emotional as well and we hope it will have a positive effect on the area."Ms. Duffy has offered to come back to Cockermouth every year that she is Poet Laureate to raise the town's profile.
"It is a wonderful offer and we will be pleased to take it up."
She added that Ms. [Carol Ann] Duffy's visit to Wordsworth House last week, which 50 people attended, had been a big success.
