"He appeared to be kind of a dashing, East Coast-looking kind of guy," said professor Martin H. Gallas, library director at Illinois College.
Ives taught modern poetry, modern novel, survey of American literature, medieval literature and Victorian literature while in Jacksonville, Gallas said.
