simply for kicks, which skates unnervingly close to evil.Evil deeds, however, are not always committed by evil people. To be a saint, you have to have more than a single good deed under your belt. The same goes for evil. Evil is a way of life devoted to destruction, such as Fred West's. What Venables did was almost wicked but we have no evidence that he would have embarked on a career of carnage had he not been stopped in his tracks.
