Poetic Obituaries: "Mr. Greene had a wonderful way

about him. He always took time to talk to the students individually, and he had the respect of everyone," recalled Betsy DeFeo, who was hired as secretary by Mr. [Charles Patrick] Greene in 1977 when he was principal of the Dolbeare Elementary School in Wakefield. "It seemed he was always in a good mood, and that set the tone for his staff and our students."

Mr. Greene's compassion for others was also reflected in the inspirational poetry he wrote on framed cards and sent to people who were ill or facing difficulties.
